Ilios doet onderzoek naar Contagious Territories en is geïnteresseerd in het concept van het eiland als een fictieve ruimte. Ilios heeft gewerkt aan de culturele reactie op HIV/AIDS, immuniteit, territorialiteit, data, het digitale, videokunst, surveillance op luchthavens, het werk van Franz Kafka en dieren die zelfmoord plegen.
