Francesco Walker heeft zijn Master's degree in cognitieve neuropsychologie behaald aan de Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. In 2015 besloot hij het verband te bestuderen tussen oogbewegingen en de waarneming van kunst van bezoekers in een museum. De daaruit ontstane samenwerking met het Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam leidde tot de eerste analyse van uiteenlopende aandachtsstrategieën bij volwassenen en kinderen, tijdens het bekijken van schilderijen in een museum.
