Dorothée Out is na haar studie Pedagogische Wetenschappen in Leiden, in 2010 gepromoveerd, ook in Leiden. Zij was één van de Rubicon winnaars van 2011 en heeft met deze subsidie onderzoek gedaan in Baltimore (Maryland), bij het 'Center for Interdisciplinary Salivary Bioscience Research' van het Johns Hopkins University.
Dorothee Out is momenteel werkzaam als talent coach bij het Honours College FSW.
