Bram van Dijk heeft een achtergrond in de sociale wetenschappen en wetenschapsfilosofie. Zijn PhD-project is gericht op het ontrafelen van mindreading bij kinderen door het verzamelen en bestuderen van fantasieverhalen van kinderen met tools uit de Natural Language Processing (NLP). Daarnaast verkent hij de mogelijkheden van moderne NLP-tools met betrekking tot de complexiteit van kinderspraak met het verhalencorpus dat momenteel wordt samengesteld.
