Leiden
Both are vibrant cities with numerous shopping and cultural offerings where history is tangible everywhere you go. Leiden and The Hague are centrally located and near other major cities, close to Schiphol Airport and in the vicinity of beaches and dunes. They are wonderful places to live and work.
Leiden University is closely interwoven with the city of Leiden itself, a compact city with a historical heart whose history dates back to the 9th century. As you walk along the canals you will see one historical building after the next. Green parks, world-class museums, bustling cafés, friendly shops, good schools: Leiden has it all. Several faculties of the university are housed in historical buildings. and also has a modern campus near Leiden Bio Science Park.. From your workplace, you are in the city centre in no time and can be on the beach in half an hour. Leiden is also in the centre of the Randstad, with rapid access to cities such as Amsterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Rotterdam. Schiphol Airport is a 15-minute train ride away.

The Hague is a multi-faceted seaside city with international allure. Many multinational and international organisations are located here, and the city is also the political-administrative heart of the Netherlands. Even the king has his ‘work palace’ in the city. The university has a number of modern and historical buildings in the heart of the city centre. From The Hague, you can get to Leiden in 15 minutes by train, within 20 minutes you’re in Rotterdam and you can be strolling through Amsterdam within 50 minutes.
