Background
I am specialised in Middle Palaeolithic stone tool technologies with special attention to Neanderthal ecological behaviours. During my BA while getting acquainted with lithic analysis, I matured and followed my interest in cultural anthropology and ethnoarchaeology. In my RMA, I further refined my knowledge of lithic technological systems and explored the world of evolutionary archaeology and its applications in studying past technological, economic, and social behaviours. I am employing evolutionary approaches in my current research.
Current research
My research focuses on understanding the various ways in which humans lived and survived in the coldest and harshest environmental conditions of the last Pleistocene glaciation. I am investigating and studying the diversity of historical hunter-gatherer shelters to establish the main factors that dictate their location and design in harsh climates. Through ethnographic studies and the creation of digital predictive models, I aim to locate remnants of Late Pleistocene shelters with systematic open-air geomagnetic surveys.
