Stefanie Meeuwis is a postdoctoral researcher at the Health, Medical, and Neuropsychology Unit at Leiden University’s Institute of Psychology.
Stefanie completed her PhD in the ERC project ‘Empowering expectations for health and disease: Training the immune and endocrine system’ of Andrea Evers. Her research focuses on pharmacological conditioning of immune responses in itch. Moreover, she studies on placebo and nocebo effects elicited through verbal suggestions and expectancy in itch.
At the moment, Stefanie is involved in several research projects focusing on placebo and nocebo effects in itch and pain.
