Research
I am interested in understanding the relation between cognition and movement in health and disease, as well as the role of the senses in rehabilitation and activities of daily living.
In two longitudinal fMRI studies, I aim to examine neural correlates of motor learning with multisensory stimulation. In the first study we focus on upper-limb recovery and attention deficits in stroke patients receiving music therapy. In the second, I examine brain changes in healthy older adults as they learn novel hand movements with the aid of multisensory cues, while simultaneously performing a cognitive task (dual-task).
