Michael Klos is an assistant professor at the Department of Jurisprudence (Institute for the Interdisciplinary Study of the Law) at Leiden University. He teaches courses in the bachelor's and master's programmes. In addition, Klos is the Programme Director for bachelor's in Law and first-year legal programmes.

Klos focuses his research on freedom of expression on the internet and deals with topics such as hate speech, fake news, disinformation and the dissemination of terrorist content online. Klos pays particular attention to the role of online platforms under the new Digital Services Act.
