I obtained my Bachelor (Pharmaceutical-Biological Chemistry) and Master’s degree (Biochemistry) in Mexico city from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). My Master’s project involved isolating and identifying novel antibiotic compounds from Streptomyces strains. My PhD project focused on studying and identifying volatile compounds released by Streptomyces with antibiotic activity, as well as its mode of action and the mechanism of resistance of target Bacteria.
