Prof. dr. Hildo J. Lamb, MD, PhD (1969) is professor of radiology and director of Cardiovascular Imaging at the Leiden University Medical Center, The Netherlands. Clinical focus is on cardiovascular radiology, thoracic radiology, mammography, and pediatric radiology. He is chairman of the Management Team Research, including the scientific committee of the Department of Radiology LUMC, Leiden, The Netherlands. He is involved in the medical training program of medical students at Leiden University as teacher, coordinator and task force member of a committee restructuring internships. He is board member of the Dutch society for radiology (Science and International affairs), board member of the Dutch section for cardiovascular radiology, board member of the Dutch Society for Vascular Medicine (NVF). He is member of the Dutch scientific council for medical specialists (FMS), board member of the Dutch council for healthcare evaluation program, Dutch representative in the UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists) section Radiology and member of the scientific board of the ESR. He is deputy editor of cardiovascular imaging for J Magn Reson Imag. He is member of the cardiovascular scientific program committee for the RSNA.

Non-invasive cardiovascular and body imaging

Prof. Lamb is actively involved in scientific research in the field of non-invasive cardiovascular and body imaging. His main focus is on development of cardiovascular imaging techniques with fast conversion to clinical application, including 3D imaging, fast acquisition techniques and MR spectroscopy. His main research focus is currently on diseases related to obesity and diabetes mellitus. He is study director of 2 ongoing triple-blind randomised trials on the effects of a GLP-1 analog. He is principle investigator of a large multicentre European study on liver steatosis. Recently he obtained a large grant from the Dutch Heart Foundation for the RADAR-study on earlier detection of aortic aneurysm and rupture risk. He published over 310 peer reviewed scientific papers, Sum of the Times Cited 13719, H-index 66, i10-index 172.
