Femke Stad is an assistant professor in the Developmental and Educational Psychology unit of the Institute of Psychology. 

She obtained her master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology at Leiden University and has a special interest in educational psychology. 

Currently, Femke is working as a lecturer and trainer in several of the bachelor and master courses within the Developmental and Educational Psychology department. Her PhD project, supervised by Professor Wilma Resing, focused on the relationship between children’s executive functions and their potential to learn. In addition to her work at the university, Femke works as a part-time counselor for children (and their families) diagnosed with externalizing and internalizing disorders.
