Curriculum Vitae
In 1990 I graduated at Tilburg University in Cross-cultural and Health Psychology. After some work as data-collector, research assistant, I became a PhD student (AIO) and in 1997 I received my doctorate on the topic: Wellness effects of a worksite health promotion program.
Since that time I have been working as a lecturer and researcher in the Section of Clinical and Health Psychology at Leiden University. I am involved in practical courses like the trainers course communication skills, practical sessions of Health Psychology and a BA project on experience health.
Furthermore I coordinate the International students who come to our university to study clinical or health psychology. As a mentor for health psychology students I try to support them in their path through their study. I am also an internship coordinator for health psychology students.
Main research interests
Initially my focus of research was mainly on occupational health (relationship between working conditions and absenteeism, burnout and job satisfaction). More and more the focus shifted towards experienced health and the relation with culture, marital status, goal pursuit.
