Antoni Mut Piña is a postdoctoral researcher at eLaw - Center for Law and Digital Technologies at Leiden University, where he contributes to the ERC StG Safe and Sound on science for robot policy. He works in the field of contract law, consumer policy and financial markets, law and economics, and empirical legal studies.

Antoni Mut Piña is an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in consumer contract law and financial markets, with a strong focus on empirical analysis and public policy optimization. Currently a postdoctoral researcher at eLaw - Center for Law and Digital Technologies at Leiden University, Antoni contributes to the ERC-funded "Safe and Sound" project. This initiative advances evidence-based policies for the integration of safe, ethical robotics into society. Antoni's role in this project builds on his expertise in digital regulation, consumer protection, and interdisciplinary legal research, supporting the development of responsible technology policies.

Antoni is also affiliated with prominent standardization bodies, serving as an observer for the Royal Netherlands Standardization Institute (NEN) and contributing to the ISO/TC 299/WG 2 workgroup, which focuses on safety requirements for service robots under the ISO/CD 13482 standard. This involvement reflects his commitment to shaping global standards for technology that prioritize consumer safety and transparency.

He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Barcelona, focusing on the intersection of consumer vulnerability and contractual transparency in financial services. His research used quantitative methods, including statistical modeling and econometrics, to assess the effects of regulatory policies on consumer behavior. Antoni’s educational background spans dual bachelor’s degrees in Law and Business Administration, a master's in Political Analysis, and specialized training in Applied Data Science. Notably, he is pursuing a degree in Applied Data Science from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, enhancing his analytical approach to law and policy.

Beyond academia, Antoni’s experience includes policy consulting with the Government of the Balearic Islands, where he worked on environmental, transportation, and energy policies within the European Union context. His academic contributions are recognized through numerous publications and conference presentations, covering topics from consumer vulnerability in financial markets to data-driven analyses of regulatory impacts. He has also contributed to significant research initiatives, such as the "Consumer, Vulnerability, and Sustainable Housing" project funded by Spain's Ministry of Science and Innovation, which investigates the implications of social housing policies on vulnerable populations.

Antoni has received multiple research grants and scholarships, including the competitive FPI Pre-doctoral Research Grant from the Spanish State Research Agency. His multidisciplinary expertise is further evidenced by his skills in programming languages like R, Python, SQL, and data visualization tools, which he utilizes to conduct rigorous analyses and develop insights for legal and policy frameworks.
