As of May 2024, she works as a PhD candidate at the department of Health, Medical, and Neuropsychology at Leiden University. The aim of her research project is to investigate socioeconomic disparities in health behavior and the role of health-related and non-health-related daily goals in explaining these disparities. The research project combines various methodological approaches including both qualitative interviewing and quantitative methods, such as lab and field experiments, and cross-sectional, longitudinal, and experimental designs. By providing a comprehensive set of studies with different methodologies, the research project attempts to advance our understanding on the factors influencing people’s health behavior and on the different daily goals that people with varying socioeconomic backgrounds pursuit in their daily lives, and how these goals interact with each other.
Besides being based at the unit of Health, Medical, and Neuropsychology, Satu is also occasionally working at the Health Campus The Hague of Leiden University.
