In the local district

Throughout this research project, you will often find us on the streets of Leiden talking to residents about their perceptions of safety. Over the coming months, you may well find our interns Jelle and Roellinde in Leiden’s many districts and in markets, shopping centres and meeting places across the city. We’re happy to answer all your questions about the research. Perhaps we’ll even bump into you! Feel free to come up to us for a chat about the research or to discuss your personal perceptions of safety in Leiden.

Have you seen us out and about?

In the first half of 2024, our interns Aniek and Marjet took to the streets to talk to Leiden’s residents about perceptions of safety. In the various markets and districts, they spoke to residents of Leiden about and talked about the ongoing research project entitled De Leidse Stadscriminoloog (‘Leiden’s City Criminologist’). They were thrilled to receive so many enthusiastic responses to the research.
