Everyone is welcome at the Leiden Science Family Day. We have set up a programme with a variety of activities for children, teenagers and adults.

Create your own magical slime at our exciting Experiment Square, be amazed by the power of light and make a can move forward without touching it. Let your creativity shine on the Leiden Science colouring page and transform into a living work of art yourself.

Throw yourself into a day full of knowledge and new insights with fascinating talks on the latest developments, such as the world of artificial intelligence and drug research. Especially for our youngest explorers, there are two children's lectures. Learn all about the musical talent of animals. And have you ever wondered if your birthday is juggling? Find out during one of the surprising children's lectures!

Let your imagination run free during our exciting workshops and demonstrations. Travel to Mars in our mobile planetarium, be amazed by experiments with liquid nitrogen at an incredible -196 degrees Celsius and dare to crack the DNA code under the guidance of Naturalis researchers.

And always wanted to walk in one of the most vibration-free places in the world? You can during one of the Science Experience tours!

The activities at the Leiden Science Family Day are suitable for children from 4 years old; some activities require adult guidance. Please note that the main language at the Leiden Science Family Day is Dutch. Some lectures and workshops will be given in English; this is specified at the activity.
