Statistics and Data Science
The group Statistical Science is responsible for research and teaching in statistics and data science.
The members of the group carry out research on a variety of mathematical, methodological, computational, and applied statistics topics.
The group offers numerous statistics courses for the Bachelor in Mathematics, the Master in Mathematics, and the Master in Statistics and Data Science of Leiden University. It also teaches courses for the Mastermath programme and other programmes at the Faculty of Science and at Leiden University College.
Part of the group is actively engaged in the Health Data Science special interest group at Leiden University, and is also involved in research projects focusing on Data Analysis and Survival for Personalised Oncology, in collaboration with the Leiden University Medical Center and the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology (Utrecht).
