Background
The aim of this research is to gain insight in the development of emotional and behavioural problems and personality characteristics of adolescents as a consequence of an ethnic disadvantaged position in Dutch society.
The relationship between a long-term exposure to ethnic disadvantage (i.e., low socio-economic status, less opportunity on the labour market, and perceived discrimination) and emotional- and behavioral problems is investigated. This is studied by comparing adolescents with Moroccan, Antillean and Dutch backgrounds in youth care and in the general population.
