About the project
The Urban WasteLearning Hub is a new initiative aimed at changing how we perceive and manage waste by engaging students, the Municipality of The Hague, and community stakeholders. This project, part of Leiden University College’s Sustainability, Climate Change, and Food minor, is designed to tackle real-world waste management challenges while promoting a circular economy. The project is funded by 2024 LUF/SVM grant.
Our impact
Using mixed-methods research, we’re investigating student learning outcomes to improve sustainable practices in waste management. This research will support The Hague’s goal of becoming a zero-waste city by 2050. With our Urban Waste Learning Hub, we’ll provide an online, accessible educational platform to bridge knowledge between the city, community, and higher education.
