Vincent Delhomme participates at the official launch of the EU Health Union Fellowship

On 10 February 2025, Vincent Delhomme attended the official launch of the new EU Health Union Fellowship at the College of Europe (Bruges), where he delivered a two-hour lecture on EU health governance.

The Covid-19 pandemic showed us the need for solidarity and collaboration in the healthcare sector. With the motto 'Health Unites Us', the Health Union Fellowship is a new EU training programme that brings bring together EU public health experts from across the Member States to learn, exchange knowledge and collaborate on key health topics, such as digital health, pharmaceutical strategies and disease prevention. This year’s inaugural group of the fellowship will bear the name of Katalin Karikó, Hungarian-born biochemist known for her pioneering research into RNA therapeutics.

On Monday 10 February, a high-level ceremony took place at the College of Europe in Bruges, in the presence of Federica Mogherini, Rector of the College of Europe, Sandra Gallina, Director-General for Health and Food at the Commission and MEP András Kulja. Olivér Várhelyi, Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare gave a video address at the ceremony.

Ahead of the ceremony, Vincent Delhomme delivered a two-hour lecture to the fellows, on topics relevant to EU Health Governance: competences, institutions and decision-making.
