Annual Health, Medical and Neuropsychology awards
During the 2019 Health, Medical and Neuropsychology Christmas lunch, several staff members and research (student) assistants were awarded.
The annual formal departmental prizes were awarded to employees. Karin van der Hiele received the Education Prize for her impressive contribution regarding her teaching over the last few years, the recently promoted Aleksandrina Skvortsova received the Publication Prize for her excellent publication Placebo effects in the neuroendocrine system: conditioning of the oxytocin responses in Psychosomatic Medicine. Meriem Manaï received the Publication Impact prize for her original and high-quality international publication with social impact entitled How to prevent, minimize, or extinguish nocebo effects in pain: a narrative review on mechanisms predictors, and interventions in Pain Reports.
During the faculty Christmas drinks the annual Faculty awards were handed out, and Meriem Manaï also received the Faculty award for best publication. The blog from HMN researcher Merve Karacaoglu and two former student assistants was nominated as one of the three chosen blogs for the Best Psychology Blog award 2019, but did not win.
In addition, a few student assistants also received recognition and a small gift as a thank you for their support to the department: Leandra Gentenaar, Myrthe van Schothorst, Magali de Rooy, and Ruben Sars.
