Successful 3th edition of workshop ‘Principles for effective negotiations in legal practice’
The Hazelhoff Centre for Financial Law organized the third edition of the workshop ‘Principles for effective negotiations in legal practice’ on 5 June 2018.
During the workshop students of the Master Financial Law and the Advanced Master Law & Finance had the opportunity to test their communication skills and to conduct negotiations on financial transactions with their peers. The workshop was facilitated by two lawyers from Stibbe law firm, who work on such transactions in their daily practice.
As an example of the assignments: the negotiators received various orders from their 'client', which they had to successfully negotiate with the other party. However, every form of contact with the other party cost the client a large sum of money, so that every transaction had to be carefully weighed.
By the end of the afternoon, the participants had all managed to close successful deals. The workshop was followed by drinks at Café Barrera to celebrate the end of the academic year.
