Bart Custers delivers big data keynote address in Japan
On October 23rd, dr. Bart Custers, associate professor and head of research of eLaw, the Center for Law and Digital Technologies at Leiden Universitty, delivers a keynote address on the big data and law at the International Conference on Big Data Research (ICBDR 2017) in Osaka, Japan
This conference, which will take place from 22nd till 24th October 2017, aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss the latest progress and developments in these fields.
Dr. Custers will present the results of the projects Eudeco (on modelling the EU data economy) and e-SIDES (on the ethical and societal impact of data science) in which eLaw participates. He will focus his keynote address on design requirements for responsible big data research and innovation (e.g., regarding privacy, discrimination and other challenges in big data). Previously, he published a book on this topic at Springer.
