Leiden University admitted as member European Banking Institute
On 3 May 2016 Leiden University was admitted as Academic Member and Founding Member of the European Banking Institute (EBI).
EBI is an international centre which is established to coordinate research efforts on the subject of banking law by several leading European academic institutions, now including Leiden University. EBI aims to promote the dialogue between scholars, regulators, supervisors, industry representatives and advisors in relation to issues concerning the regulation and supervision of financial institutions and financial markets from various perspectives, including legal and economic viewpoints.
Professor Matthias Haentjens, director of the Hazelhoff Centre for Financial Law, was appointed the representative of Leiden University in the Academic Board of EBI.
