Book presentation Fit for the Future
This year The Netherlands once again chairs the EU Council. In the book ‘Fit for the Future’ Leiden researchers reflect on the priorities that the Dutch presidency has put forward for 2016 and raise the question: is the EU fit for the future?
On Friday 29 April 2016 the editors Bernard Steunenberg, Wim Voermans en Stefaan Van den Bogaert presented the book to the President of Senate Ankie Broekers-Knol and Tom de Bruijn, alderman of The Hague and former Representative of the Netherlands to the European Union in Brussels.
‘Fit for the Future’ brings together contributions on topics related to the Dutch Presidency Agenda 2016 from a number of scholars who are affiliated with Leiden University. Each of the authors reflects on elements and developments in EU law and policy that will be important to the EU agenda in the coming months from their own background or perspective. The volume offers unique contemporary, academic, and interdisciplinary insights on the functioning of the EU for national and European policy- and decision-makers.
