Mayor of Leiden visits NeCEN
Last Monday April 18, Bram Koster (professor at the Institute of Biology Leiden (IBL), professor at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC)) and Ariane Briegel (professor at the IBL) gave a presentation to the mayor of Leiden, Henri Lenferink. The presentation took place at NeCEN, the open access research facility for cryo electron microscopy.
Dean and scientific director
Besides the mayor, Geert de Snoo (Dean of the Faculty of Science), Herman Spaink (Scientific Director of the IBL) and the NeCEN staff joined the event.
Ready for global collaborations
The mayor was shown the microscopes and the new location at the Faculty of Science where NeCEN will move to soon. Lenferink showed a great interest and focused on the services NeCEN provides for companies. The mayor was especially interested in the process of data collection and was introduced to the sample preparation lab to see how a sample is cryogenically frozen. NeCEN is prepared for setting up more collaborations with companies. For more information, contact NeCEN at necen@biology.leidenuniv.nl
