New name: Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs
From 1 January 2016 Faculty Campus The Hague will have a new name: the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs (FGGA). This new name is a logical blend of the elements that make up the faculty.
The faculty is currently home to the Institute of Public Administration and will also be the location of expertise in the area of security issues in the new Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA), headed by Professor Edwin Bakker. Leiden University College The Hague (LUCTH), a Liberal Arts and Sciences bachelor’s programme focusing on the theme of Global Challenges, is also part of the faculty.
The FGGA’s ambition is to become a world player in the area of research and teaching on governance and global affairs. The faculty’s ability to achieve this ambition is due at least in part to its location in the heart of The Hague, the political and administrative centre of the Netherlands, known globally as the International City of Peace and Justice.
