Leiden University enables students to play a role in the sustainability challenges of the coming decades. Good scientific research and education are crucial for a safe, healthy, sustainable, prosperous and just world. In Leiden students are being taught the knowledge and skills that are important for solving complex sustainability issues.

Leiden University offers courses and programmes in which sustainability is a central theme. For example:

•    the Master's in Governance of Sustainability 
•    the Master's in Industrial Ecology (in collaboration with TU Delft). 
•    In addition, sustainability themes are increasingly integrated into existing courses or students choose this theme for their assignments or thesis. 

There is also a variety of sustainability initiatives for students.
