Get a taste of Urban Studies

Are you fascinated by cities, their complexity and the role they play? Are you eager to learn how to solve problems we encounter every day and will encounter in the future?

Cities are more relevant than ever. They play an increasingly important role in the issues of this time: climate change, inequality, safety and health. Our Urban Studies programme gives you the opportunity to become a problem solver, teaching you how to develop real-life answers to today’s and tomorrow’s urban challenges. You can get a taste of what a Urban studies lecture and workgroup looks and feels like during the Experience Day and of course, chat with current students too.

Programme:

12:00 – 12:30 Arrival and Registration

12:30 – 13:15 Lecture Urban Studies

A lecture delivered by Dr. Alistair Kefford, to experience what a lecture in the program can look like. To get the most out of your experience, read the assigned homework beforehand. You will receive it closer to date.

13:15 – 13:30 Break

Opportunity to chat with current students and ask your questions to student ambassadors over a coffee.

13:45 – 14:45 Thematic workgroup

During a workgroup, you get to discuss and go deeper on topic of the lecture.

Parents’/Guardians’ programme:

13:30 – 14:15 Parents Q&A

For whom is this event?

  • Students from the last year of pre-university education (vwo) who may have already attended an Open Day, or  were unable to attend and/or wish to further explore the bachelor's programme in Urban Studies.
  • Students who are not yet fully certain about their study choice or are still undecided between programmes and want to make a decision.
