Leadership in academia transcends individual disciplines. However, despite its multifaceted character, interdisciplinary collaboration remains a challenge. This Interdisciplinary Leadership Symposium brings together researchers from across the university to exchange ideas, explore the diverseness of leadership research, and celebrate the value of inter- and transdisciplinary collaboration in this field.

Workshop round 1: Getting familiar
Leiden University has many researchers conducting interdisciplinary research practices. This workshops will highlight multiple researches conducted in a multidisciplinary team, with Lars Venneman about the role of leadership on equal opportunities in primary education.
Leadership is a key theme across many programs at Leiden University. This workshop highlights its diverse applications, for example the interdisciplinary Leiden Leadership Programme. Participants will gain practical insights into leadership development and discover how future and current leaders learn from one another. |

Workshop round 2: Going in-depth
In this workshop you will gain insight in the multitude research methods that can be used to conduct leadership research. Dr. Pam ten Broeke tells about her diary study within the context of health care. Bahar Heinis shares her unique intervention method on change leadership within the public sector.
Transdisciplinary collaboration is gaining increasing attention. This workshop will explore best practices from projects where research and practice work seamlessly together. One example is the "Furthering Public Leadership" research conducted by the Leiden Leadership Centre. |
