You will dive into a wide range of important, fascinating issues, ranging from the functioning of international diplomacy to the security threats posed by terrorism. You will be based in one of the most highly ranked departments of its kind in Europe. Your lecturers are scholars from many countries with expertise in various areas of international politics, including several with direct experience in policy formation, diplomacy, and international organisations. They will stimulate you to think critically and independently and help you to sharpen your analytical mind.
State-of-the-art
In this one-year programme, you will acquaint yourself with the state-of-the-art in political science, follow a core course on conflict and cooperation in international politics and work on your academic skills. In addition to these mandatory courses, you will be able to choose from a number of elective seminars, covering more political science subdisciplines. Under certain conditions, doing an internship is an option. A research thesis, written within a thesis seminar specific to the area of international politics, completes the programme.

All courses are taught in small groups, allowing for personal contact with your fellow students, as well as your instructors.
