The specialisation teaches you analytical frameworks and skills for managerial decision making. Internships help you decide whether you want to choose a career in industry or Physics research.
Programme outline
The Physics component of the Business Studies specialisation centres on a research project in one of the research groups of the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION), including a Master's thesis and an oral presentation, as well as courses selected in correspondence with the research topic. This may include non-physics courses. Within the business component you will follow the management track:
- The Management track is for students who consider employment opportunities in industry, and who are looking to acquire knowledge of business principles and training in managerial skills. The track provides an introduction to general management theory and practice.

The Physics master's programme offers you a lot of options to create your own programme. There is also the possibility to follow an internship abroad at another university or in a company or to follow courses at another university in the Netherlands or abroad.
