Law and Society (MSc)
Master's application and admission
Find out how to apply for Law and Society (MSc) at Leiden University by following our step-by-step guide.
We strongly recommend prospective students to apply for the September intake and not for the February intake.
Students who start in February, start with the programme that is normally offered in the second semester. The programme however is logically structured in a very coherent and cohesive manner with September as point of departure. The first semester commences with a foundational theoretical course providing in-depth knowledge and understanding of key notions and theories of law & society, on which all subsequent courses build. Additionally, the thesis trajectory kicks off in the first semester with a course solely dedicated to the thesis proposal. Students will find it extremely hard to catch-up when they start the programme in the second semester, especially if they do not yet have a solid background in the Law & Society field.
