ICT in the Public Sector (MSc)
Programme structure
The MSc specialisation ICT in the Public Sector gives you the opportunity to study the field of IT management in a governmentall setting. You will learn how to benefit from your technical Computer Science knowledge on an administrative, management level.
NOTE: in September 2025 this master programme will become _Computer Science and Business Studies_, i.e., a new Business Studies specialisation of the existing master Computer Science programme. The curriculum will remain mostly the same, with additional freedom in choosing electives from the master Computer Science.
Programme outline
The curriculum depends on the student’s background. Students with a business background follow the foundation courses on ICT (12 ECTS total). Students with an ICT background follow the foundation courses on Business (12 ECTS total). Students with a Bachelor degree ‘Informatica & Economie’ from Leiden University are exempted from the courses in the foundation modules. These students follow additional electives instead for 15 ECTS. Students who choose for the specialisation ICT in Business need to take all courses from the Module specialisation ICT in Business (15 ECTS in total), whereas students who choose for the specialisation ICT in the Public Sector take all courses from the Module specialisation ICT in the Public Sector (15 ECTS in total). The curriculum is completed with 9 ECTS electives.
