Connect theory and practice of teaching through the application of your academic knowledge about Biology to issues of classroom practice.
Programme outline
The Biology research component consists of a biology research project of 36 EC, and 24 EC of advanced theory (courses and lectures). The research project has to take place in one of the research groups of the IBL, CML or Naturalis, other Institutes of the Faculty of Sciences or LUMC.
The Education component of the specialisation is offered by the Leiden Graduate School of Education (ICLON) and includes courses on didactics and adolescent psychology and an educational research project and school practice. In addition, you can also participate in the World Teachers Programme to prepare for bilingual and international teaching.
