Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences and Business Studies (MSc)

Master's application and admission

Find out how to apply for Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences and Business Studies at Leiden University by following our step-by-step guide.

Step-by-step guide

This guide clearly explains the steps you need to take to apply, and the subsequent admission process.

It's not possible to choose this specialisation in Studielink. Admission to the Business Studies specialisation is only possible after admission to one of the research specialisations. Students opting for this non-research specialisation can be admitted after the successful completion of their first (research) year of the master programme.

The research specialisations are considered to be default specialisations. Hence, students will only be admitted to the master on a research specialisation. Students following the research specialisations continue their research training in the second year. Students opting for a non-research specialisation will be admitted after the successful completion of their first year of the master programme.

Every master student of Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences has to start with a Research Project of 9 months (RP1) within the LACDR (our research institute). On the website of the LACDR you can find information on the various research programmes that are offered by our research divisions. Research specialisations are associated with the research themes of the different divisions.

BFW students who want to start the master BPS in the academic year 2023-2024 in September 2023, please enroll in studielink and fill out this RP1 registration form between April 1 and June 14, 2023. Based on the information you provide, the education office of the master BPS will match you with a suitable RP1 spot before July 1. This is also applicable to students who have completed the bachelor in past years.
All other students: Enrol in Studielink for one of the research specialisations. In case you are admissible, the admission committee of the master programme will match you with a suitable Research Project. A day later you will receive log-in details for Leiden University’s application system (uSis), where you can complete your application.
