Notarial Law (LL.B.)

Moving in together, getting married, starting a business, buying a house. The bachelor’s programme 'Notarieel Recht' provides you with the skills for a career as a civil-law notary ensuring that these life events run smoothly.

Note: This Bachelor programme is only offered in Dutch.

Are you interested in developments in society? In a conflict, do you search for a compromise instead of passing a judgement? If so, Notarieel Recht is the right study for you. As a civil-law notary you provide a service, delivering creative solutions while remaining within the confines of the law. To you, people are just as fascinating as law.

Why study 'Notarieel Recht' at Leiden University?

  • Notarial law is a small-scale study programme, where you quickly get to know your fellow students and will be supervised closely.
  • Besides your specialisation you will develop a broad legal basis. You learn about national, European  and  international law, from inspiring lecturers who are often also employed  as civil-law notaries, judges or lawyers.
  • The programme is taught in the centre of Leiden with excellent facilities provided such as a mock courtroom, law library and a network of national and international  students.
