Global Affairs
The minor Global Affairs is built on two pillars of International Relations: International Security and International Political Economy. This minor aims to provide students with the tools and knowledge to understand the most important global trends and challenges.
Is this the right minor for you?
This English minor programme is aimed at students who have a keen interest in, and are enthusiastic about the practical side of global affairs, international relations, international political economy, international security and diplomacy. This minor is especially interesting for students from Public Administration, Political Science, Law and International Studies, but all students are welcome.
The minor is accessible only for bachelor students who have obtained their ‘propedeuse’, HBO students cannot apply.

'My experience in the Global Affairs minor has helped me to step out of my regular programme and acknowledge the interdisciplinary importance of today's geopolitical context. It was a great possibility to learn more about the changing global order, including the new challenges for the EU, the roles of China and Russia, and the 21st century Middle East.
I really appreciated the opportunity to choose the electives in this minor, which allowed me to look deeper into the structure of global governance, the UN operations, and the latest geoeconomic developments. The teaching staff was so supportive that it inspired me to go the extra mile: Knowing that all of my questions would be answered with great depth and clarity made me feel like a truly valued part of the minor programme.'
