European Union Studies
About this minor
The European Union Studies minor includes four core courses that provide students with comprehensive knowledge of the European Union’s institutions, policy process, economy, history, and current challenges. In addition to this, students also choose two electives from a broad portfolio of courses that examine in more detail EU’s internal politics as well as its relations to third countries.
The course descriptions are subject to change.

Extra-curricular
Students in the European Union Studies minor are encouraged to take part in various activities through which we seek to combine academic study with a more practical understanding of the way the EU works. To that end, our programme organizes regular EU Seminars with representatives of EU institutions, politicians, journalists, activists, and other professionals. Through these talks we stay abreast of the most current discussions in EU politics, and we also give our students a better understanding of various career paths they can follow after completing our programme.
The European Union Studies programme also partners with the Humanities Career Office to organize a day trip to EU institutions in Brussels where the students can learn more about the workings of the EU and meet our alumni who already work there.
