Join the study association LUNAS!
LUNAS is the study association for students in and alumni of North American Studies in Leiden. LUNAS helps new North American Studies students to find their way in and around the university and the city. In addition, LUNAS organises social, cultural and networking events for current students and alumni.
We will read a diversity of texts in American literature, including Phillis Wheatley and Emily Dickinson’s poetry, Frederick Douglass’s slave narrative, Walden by Henry David Thoreau and key documents such as the Declaration of Independence.
The courses in the second semester aim to deepen and broaden the knowledge and skills you’ve acquired in the first semester: you can choose to specialize in American history (track 1) or American literature and culture (track 2).
