For students

What kind of job can I get with my degree? How do I choose between all the things I find interesting? What steps can I take to craft my future? Designing Your Life helps you tackle these questions by approaching your life and career with design thinking.

How does Designing Your Life work?

In a Designing Your Life course, you’ll use design thinking activities and tools to define where you are now and where you’d like to go. You’ll brainstorm with classmates, envision multiple possible futures for yourself, and learn to build your way forward.

Central to the course is having network conversations with professionals in the field to gain insight into what your future could look like. Using journaling exercises, you will identify what gives you energy and tackle obstacles such as perfectionism, imposter syndrome, fear of failure and indecision.

The course relies on small sub-groups within your class – each guided by a peer mentor – to stimulate discussions on a personal level. At the end of the course, you won’t have the answers to all your questions, but you will have developed the necessary life skills and confidence to keep designing your future.
