Central and East European Studies Centre
The Central and Eastern European Studies Centre is an interdisciplinary platform of scholars of Leiden University. The Centre’s mission is to bundle together, strengthen and disseminate existing research into the history, politics, and culture of the region, spanning the new member states of the EU, but also Ukraine, Moldova, the Western Balkans and Russia.
The Central and Eastern European Studies (CEES) Centre links and builds on the considerable expertise housed in different institutes:
The CEES Centre organises:
- a series of seminars with external and internal speakers
- PhD research seminars and colloquia
- public events
- visits to the Annual Conventions of the World’s Austrian Centres and Institutes
The Centre’s activities are supported by the three participating institutes and the Austrian Studies Fund.
