Innovation Attaché Network visits Leiden
Attachés from the Innovation Attaché Network (IAN) visited Leiden University to meet with researchers working on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and to become more familiar with what Leiden, Leiden University and the LUMC have to offer to possible partners abroad.
The morning was reserved for more general talks on the exciting new and existing possibilities that are on offer in Leiden. The directors of LURIS and the Leiden Bioscience Park elaborated on the opportunities they offer and plans for the near future. Aske Plaat spoke on the multifarious aspects of AI that are being studied at Leiden University and the many interdisciplinary collaborations that are united in SAILS.
The group did a tour of the Academy building (originally a church built in 1447) where the meeting was held.
The afternoon event took place at Leiden Institute for Advance Computer Sciences, located in the Bioscience Park. Talks were held by AI experts who talked about topics varying from the legal and ethical aspects of AI innovation to games and optical imaging.
The closing speech was done by the Dean of Science, Michiel Kreutzer. Afterwards there was the opportunity to talk to researcher over drinks and nibbles.
