OSCL is proud to invite the community to this workshop where we explore what it would mean to us to publish other research outputs than just the final products of our work!
Workshop Overview: Together with you, we explore modular publishing as a new and alternative publishing format. In this workshop, you will learn about the modular approach to research, examine some benefits it can offer, and learn how to put it into practice using ResearchEquals. This is an interactive workshop designed to progress participants' knowledge and skills in academic publishing.
Qualitative Research Element – Focus Group: We are studying the barriers to adopting modular publishing and invite you to participate in a recorded focus group discussion to that end. We want to hear your perspectives and lived experiences around what it would take to publish in new and innovative ways. Participation in the focus group is voluntary and you will be asked for your consent to participate in the recorded focus group discussion on the day of the workshop.
The focus group discussion will take place during the workshop for around 45 minutes. However, participation in the focus group is not mandatory for attending the workshop, meaning that if you decide not to participate in the focus group discussion you can still – and are more than welcome to - attend the workshop.
Registration: To express your interest and secure your spot in this workshop, please register here. We encourage early registration as spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Why Participate? This workshop presents a valuable opportunity for graduate students and researchers alike to share and explore critical approaches to scholarly writing and publishing, specifically modular publishing. It is not only a chance to enhance academic skill sets but also to contribute to a discussion on the future of academic publishing.
Should you require any further information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the workshop hosts at j.schmidt@rug.nl.
