Call for papers: Third Conference on Frisian Humanities
The Fryske Akademy, the Mercator European Research Centre on Multilingualism and Language Learning, the Professorship Multilingualism and Literacy of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, the department of Frisian Studies of the University of Groningen, and the department Language, Technology and Culture of UG/Campus Fryslân invite papers for the Third Conference on Frisian Humanities.
The Frisian humanities resemble the region’s landscape—diverse yet interconnected. Just as peninsulas and islands are separated by water and borders but linked by roads and ferries, disciplines like Frisian linguistics, history, and culture can seem isolated yet share common ground. The same applies to teaching regional languages and developing digital tools for low-resource languages. With the Third Conference on Frisian Humanities on 11-14 November 2025, the is aim to strengthen these connections and foster collaboration.
The Scientific Committee welcomes contributions in the form of individual papers, colloquia, and posters presentations.
