Time
Address
This will be a public, recorded event, and all are welcome to (virtually) attend.

On November 11, 2020, from 1600 to 1730 (CET / GMT +1), the International Centre for Counter Terrorism – The Hague (ICCT), Women in International Security Netherlands (WIIS NL), Leiden University’s Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA), and the Chair of UN Studies in Peace and Justice are co-hosting an online Live Briefing via Zoom, followed by a Q&A session.

October 31, 2020 marks the 20th anniversary since the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (UNSCR 1325) which globally launched the women peace and security (WPS) agenda across multiple security platforms. In the succeeding years, terrorism, violent extremism and the nature and intensity of international conflict has continued to impact women. At the same time, women have increasingly emerged as important actors within and beyond the WPS agenda, including as members of violent extremist groups.

In this webinar, our distinguished panel will assess how UNSCR 1325 has adapted and can continue to evolve to address the challenges of international peace and security:

1325 twenty years on – the evolution of the WPS agenda after 9/11
