Zsofia Pilz is currently a PhD candidate at the CoPAN lab in the Cognitive Psychology unit under the supervision of Dr. Mariska Kret and Dr. Francesco Walker. Her research is centred around the examination of visual perception in children, particularly in the context of art museums.

Research

Zsofia Pilz's current research interests revolve around visual perception, empirical aesthetics, and the educational aspects related to children's experiences in museum settings. Throughout her Ph.D. project, she will study the cognitive processes underlying children's visits to art museums, with a focus on enhancing these spaces to enable children to fully benefit from their museum encounters.

Short CV

Zsofia Pilz completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Linguistic and Literary Computing at the Technical Unviersity Darmstadt. Her Master's thesis focused on exploring the underlying neural processes involved in reading various literary genres, and her research in Digital Humanities earned her a Master's thesis award at TU Darmstadt.
During her academic journey, she also studied abroad, spending a semester in Veszprém, Hungary during her Bachelor's studies and another semester in Turku, Finland during her Master's program.
Throughout her studies, Zsofia worked as a student researcher at the Institute of Linguistics and Literary Studies and continued her research there after completing her Master's degree. Subsequently, she transitioned to her current role in the eye tracking company Tobii, where she combines her professional work with her Ph.D. program at Leiden University.
