Vera works as an academic lecturer at the Faculty of Law of Universitas Tarumanagara. Prior to her academic profession, she worked as a lawyer in Jakarta, Indonesia. She mostly handled cases dealing with Government Administrative Procedures, properties, and private sectors. Vera completed her Bachelor of Law from Trisakti University and obtained her master’s degree in Public International Law from Leiden University.
From 2020-2022 Vera worked as an expert member of the the Provincial Government of Jakarta for development of the vertical kampong and settlement for Jakarta's urban poor.
Vera is doing her PhD research at Leiden University, jointly assigned with the Royal Dutch Academy of South Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV) and Van Vollenhoven Institute of Leiden Law School (VVI). Her PhD research focuses on normalization of rivers in Jakarta as part of a water management program, land acquisition, and how governments undertake global warming in development sectors. Her PhD research is supervised by Prof. Adriaan Bedner (VVI) and Prof. Diana Suhardiman (KITLV).
