Profile
Tycho received his bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences at Wageningen University and Research in 2019. Here, he specialized in environmental policy, geo-information sciences and advanced statistics. For his bachelor’s thesis, he analysed the transition from flying to travelling by train from a social scientific perspective.
In 2022, Tycho received his master's degree in industrial ecology at Leiden University and TU Delft, where he learned to approach wicked problems from a systems thinking perspective. During his master, he further specialised in biogeochemical cycles, atmospheric modelling and climate change at Wageningen University and Research. For his thesis, he researched the capabilities of machine learning to model surface ammonia concentrations in the Netherlands by using ground and satellite data. This thesis was in collaboration with the Climate, Air and Sustainability group of TNO.
Research topic
Tycho participates in the Nationaal Kennisprogramma Stikstof and is researching the atmosphere–biosphere measurements and models of reactive nitrogen to improve the current nitrogen deposition models in the Netherlands.
